Verne & Wells is hiring a part-time Social Coordinator

Who Are We:
We are a members-only social club that is dedicated to geek culture. Humans are social creatures – we have a social need to constantly meet new people, interact with them, and build meaningful relationships. However, it’s not a secret that if you have a job or family or both – you have a very limited time to socialize and meet new people who have common interests with you. That’s where Verne & Wells comes in: we provide a comfortable, inclusive environment for our members. Members come from across the spectrum: high tech, medicine, writing, game publishing, radio, and more.

Who Are We Looking For:
We have an exciting part-time opportunity for an outgoing, genuine, and detail-oriented person who will manage relationships with our current and potential members. People with sales, customer service, and administrative assistant experience, including students and recent graduates are welcome to apply.
  • Flexible: Most of our scheduled events happen after hours, on weekends and weeknights.
  • Detail oriented: You will manage multiple calendars including monthly newsletters, game schedules, open houses, volunteer schedules, parties, and additional marketing events.
  • Customer focused: We fully trust you to represent the team and you take it very seriously. You have experience providing genuine, efficient, and high quality customer service every day
  • Adaptable: You can handle multiple different tasks at the same time, by giving each task the attention it deserves. You believe that difference in your daily projects doesn’t confuse you, but it makes your job dynamic and interesting.
  • Takes initiative: We are a small team, and we constantly improve how we do things. You are confident to share your perspective and work through possible challenges and grow with us.

What Would Be Expected:
  • ​Bi-weekly Owners' Update
  • Write the Monthly Newsletter
  • Game Calendar Upkeep
  • Host the Monthly Public Open House
  • Member Committee Shepherd
  • Other support tasks as needed
